A Recurring Nightmare
I'm a strip club omnivore, and I make it a point to occasionally visit clubs I've written off, just in case things change for the better. But for 15+ years, this club has never failed to disappoint. It is just so not my style. Here's my report from this year's visit. Physically it's still a mess: dirty, beat-up, bad flow & seating set-up, loud. Cost is a weird mix of outrageous and cheap: $20 day admission (they say $10 plus $10 entertainment fee or something equating to the "free" drinks), constant tipping demands by dancers even away from the stage, drink push, machine-pay/timed dances that are fairly reasonably-priced but seem short to me (relative to other clubs I frequent). But my biggest peeve is what an "amateur hour" experience I find this place to be: young and dumb seems the best description for both the dancers and the patrons. While young dancers sometimes aren't such a bad thing in the looks department, it also brings a lot of "my pussy is made of gold" attitude that leads to low mileage or ridiculous price demands. And ever time I go I witness some inter-dancer drama. And the customers are loud young guys who you can tell think these dancers REALLY dig them. Nobody sits on stage and tips, except sometimes guys "make it rain" about $10-20 on one of the lookers so they can jump the line for a dance (OK, that's not such an amateur move...). Dances are private enough and fairly good mileage can be obtained if you can identify the providers (thank you, strip club websites) and then bargain like a Turkish rug merchant to defeat the typical inflated initial price sales technique. At this club I have never heard the "tip me what you think is fair after I show you a good time" approach that I've heard at other clubs (and rewarded handsomely since girls with that level of confidence usually deliver). For me, and for what I find at other clubs, dealing with these newbies is just too much work and too low return on investment of my time & money. Plus there's a lot of tats & piercings (usually not my thing) and COI plus-sized girls with big boobs & butts (also usually not my thing). On the other hand, there's often a LOT of girls, and since I don't come here much they're all new to me. This trip had 3 lap dance try-outs, all of which were adequate but none of which were memorable or led to VIP or significant action (one had possibilities but price issues and my by-then negative attitude didn't motivate me to close the deal). Maybe if you are just cutting your teeth at strip-clubbing, DV COI is a place where you can develop your game and try out a lot of girls at relatively reasonable cost (assuming you work the "free pass" or membership angles to reduce admission price). But once you become a serious PL, it's time to move on.
