I was in Baltimore for the evening and decided to kill some time before calling it a day. I had read the reviews and had been to other block clubs so decided to check it out. What a disappointment. The physical layout is typical, long stage along the left side as you enter with seats at the bar that runs most of the length of the narrow room. I was immediately struck by the smell of vomit that permeated the front half of the club. I took this as strike one. I moved toward the back half and took a seat at the bar near the side door where several of the girls were hanging out. I thought it was to get some fresh air but it turned out to be a place for them to hang out and smoke. Strike two. I was approached by two ladies in fairly quick succession. The first had lots of tats and bad teeth. I told her I was still browsing and was not going to buy her a drink. She bolted immediately. The second sat next to/draped across me and we chatted for a few before the bar tender made a pass to press me to buy a drink. During the chat I discovered that the usual block options appear to apply but the VIP starts at $185. I was also informed that she had been working on the block for 17 years. Strike three. A quick look around led to the realization that the talent tonight was sub par at best and the two that approached me were in the top half. I decided to cut my losses on the one beer and a couple of singles to the ladies on stage. Maybe things will pan out better on a future visit.
