Better than last time

It was close to midnight when I walked into Scruples. There was a UFC fight going on, so the place had a bigger crowd than I expected. Anyway, Scruples isn't really a spot I visit often, but I had just gotten off the turnpike and felt like stopping in for a beer. My last visit was probably about a year ago, maybe more.

Seems like they've done some things to make the place look a little bit better or the crowd of people just obscured everything and made it seem that way. They had Stella on tap, so I ordered and watched the dancers. There were about 12-13 dancers. I prefer younger spinner types and I only saw one, but she didn't dance during my 45 minute visit. I'd say all but three or four of the dancers were north of 25 years old, which for a Saturday night is not great. They did have two very attractive and slender WOC, one of which actually danced very well. Some latina girls, but half were caucasian girls. Had a good chat with a dancer that didn't appeal to me physically, but there was no pressure for a dance beyond her asking when she first started talking.

Dancers seem to go around for tips twice inside the bar, but they don't seem to ask for tips outside of the bar (which is as I remember). Only one dancer tried to get more than a dollar at a time, so the dollar parade was average. Scruples used to have a pretty brutal dollar parade where each dancer would hustle hard for multiple tips at a time -- one reason I've avoided this place for years. Hopefully, management wised up and put a damper on this.
