welcome to the ghetto

One of my favorite dancers talked me into visiting Rick’s for the very first time tonight, and it turned out to be a really strange experience. Upon arrival I was surprised that the parking lot was almost completely full. I grabbed one of the last two remaining parking spots. I didn’t realize it, but this club seems to have a lot of theme nights, and tonight there was a wet T-shirt contest advertised for 2 am.

I guess I should have known I was in for a different experience when I saw two security guards at the entrance, and one of them asked to pat me down. The cover to get inside was $12, and while the club looks nice both on the outside and the inside, it’s the girls that count, right?

But I’m getting ahead of myself. The main room has a large stage, and then one small satellite stage. All along the wall at the back and along the right hand side of the main room are cubicles which seem to be reserved. To the left is a small bar and another stage, so I guessed that might be a VIP area, but didn’t explore.
