I finished up my one evening, four-club circuit in Detroit with a stop at Bogarts. Bogart’s is a dive level bar, but I think I actually liked it the best out of all of the clubs I visited (Coliseum, Landing Strip, Flight Club). It’s only a few hundred yards and across the street on Michigan Avenue from my previous stop at the Flight Club. Michigan Avenue is well traveled and well lit, and the area didn’t look bad, so I walked. I don’t know if I was risking my life by walking around Detroit at night with a couple of hundred dollars in my pocket, but the short trip was uneventful.

The cover charge at Bogarts was $5. It was not packed, but there was a good size, lively crowd, mostly blue collar looking white guys. Beer at the bar was $6.75, served up by a couple of efficient barmaids. The beer was pricey but not ridiculous like the Landing Strip and Flight Club. The cheapest beer I saw on my circuit was $4 at the Coliseum, but I am assuming at this point that I must have been getting a happy hour price for my afternoon visit.

The dancers at Bogarts are several notches below what I had seen at the other clubs I visited. There were about fifteen working, most white but a few AAs as well. I would say most were in the 3 to 5 range, with a few 6s, but I saw a nice looking blonde with short hair in a red bikini sitting at table with a couple of customers. She was easily an 8 or 9 and as good looking as anything I saw at either the Coliseum or the Flight Club.
