Coliseum

Pulled in about 4:00 on a Thursday. The parking lot is cramped because there is a double row of faux Egyptian obelisks in the middle of the parking lot leading up to the entrance. They probably take up half the space in the lot, but I guess it really doesn’t matter much because its mandatory valet parking at $8.

There was a girl inside at the door behind a counter, but she waved me through without charging a cover. It was dark inside and it took a few minutes for my eyes to adjust. When they did, I saw that the Egyptian theme continued inside with a kind of modernistic interpretation of Egyptian motifs on the walls. WTF?—the coliseum was Roman, not Egyptian.

The bar is to the left, a long stage in center, and to the right a couple of rows of booths. The restrooms and VIP areas are in the back. Everything looks nice and well maintained. This may not be a super luxe club, but it is at the higher end of upscale. Beer was a reasonable $4 at the bar.
