Only Club in Wilmington, For Better or Worse

I stopped by Hak's a little after 5 pm on a Tuesday night. No cover asked or paid, and I did see a sign indicating a $10 after 6 pm. It's very easy to find, just a short, straight drive from I-495.

The club has a dark neighborhood bar kind of vibe, with two stages inside the bar area, though only one was occupied when I went in. There's an elevated seating area off to one side, which was unoccupied except for one dancer getting very friendly with a patron. I wasn't there long and didn't have any private dances, so I'm not sure where the private spaces or VIP area are located, but I think it was behind that raised seating area and past the men's room, which was clean and bright.

The dancers were diverse in ethnicity, age and body types, though all but one seemed to be carrying at least a few extra pounds. The dancers were mostly in bikinis but there was some topless time for each of the ones I saw on stage. Most of the dancers were pretty solidly attached to patrons that I assume were regulars. One did approach me as the bartender was taking the money for my beer, but when she saw that we were engaged in a transaction, she said, "Oh, you're getting change! I'll be back later." I didn't give her the chance, as she was on stage shortly after that, and I was done my beer and on the way out not much later.
