Fading glory
Used to spend a lot of time (and money) at this one, but seems like they're struggling a bit of late. While my visits are limited to afternoons, it's been my go-to for a good time and good company. I see a lot of new faces, and some of the regular dancers have moved on after being here forever, and its taking on a different personality. I'm ok with some change, but seems like a bit more than a healthy amount of it here. Not as many people coming by either, probably causing the turnover with drop in income. Others there have noted the decline and are checking into other venues.
Anyway, stopped by on Sunday after a verbal beating at home, no body else in the bar, and only a couple of dancers. I ran into a dancer I hadn't seen in a couple years, thought she had moved on. She gave me a rundown on some of the activities, the gossip, and how things have been for her. Nice chat, both of us agreed we didn't need or want to do a dance, and I tipped her for her time before I left.
Plenty of cars when I pass by in the evenings, so I'm sure they're in no danger of going away, but I hate to lose my comfortable spot for the afternoon break.
