On The Border is on a main road in what looks like a nice commercial area, so no safety concerns getting there. It looks like it’s in a converted office building. The entry doors are glass; past them is a small lobby, just like you would see in a small office building, then and another set of doors leading to the club area. A bouncer just past the second set of doors collects the $10 cover. There is a large U-shaped island bar in the middle of the room. Past that are two stages, one of which projects somewhat into the “U” of the bar.

I paid $5.25 for a domestic beer at the bar and surveyed the scene. Overall, the club has a nice upscale look, although it’s not what I would call opulent. The back stage was empty, but a girl was dancing on the main stage that projected in to the bar area and there was a crowd of guys sitting at the stage tipping. There were maybe a dozen other guys sitting around at the bar, all white, mostly thirtyish and up. I stayed for about two hours total and there was a crowd of guys tipping at the stage pretty much the whole time. This is the first club I have been to in a while where the girls seemed to get a significant amount of money from stage tips, versus hustling for lap dances or VIPs. When the girls get off stage, they do a tip parade around the room to squeeze money out of the rest of the guys not sitting at the stage.

Although the club is nice, I wasn’t particularly impressed with the girls I saw when I first got there. I could see only about a half-dozen mostly average looking girls. The best looking girls in the place were the shot girls. However, a number of additional girls filtered in over the next hour or so, some very good looking, some not so much. By the time I left, there were probably about 15 or more, ranging from 5 to 8, maybe a 9 or two. They were most white, as you would expect in Wisconsin, but there were also a couple of AAs.
