I went to Dames and Games on a Friday around 18:00. If you want to park in their lot, it is mandatory valet parking. I think it costs $6. If you want to park for free, you have to find a spot on Washington Boulevard or East 16th Street. The area south of downtown Los Angeles has a lot of abandoned buildings and homeless; this is not a good area to be walking to your car after dark. The first time I came here, I was not allowed in because I was wearing a muscle shirt. Tank tops, basketball shorts, and overly baggy clothes are not allowed. I came back later in the week with a dress shirt and jeans. I was searched for weapons by the door man. Cover was $5 at 18:00. At 19:00, the cover jumps to $10.

In Los Angeles, only clubs without alcohol can offer topless and nude lap dances. If a club serves alcohol, it can have topless stage dancing, but bikinis must stay on during lap dances. Dames and Games is of the latter variety. The club is part of the Spearmint Rhino chain and is basically a sports bar and grill with topless entertainers. The club can be described as a gentlemen’s club in the main part, and a typical sports bar with full service dining in the other room. Televisions with baseball games and other sporting events were present in both areas. Food and liquor could be ordered in both areas. A pint of Budweiser was $7. I tried the pepperoni pizza and did not like it. How do you fuck up pizza?

The main stage has three poles. The lap dance area is in the back of the main room. It is basically a long bench hidden behind a wall. Lap dances here are $20. While dancers must keep their bikinis on, the better ones will pull their breasts out of their tops briefly. Contact is no-limit two-way. There are cameras and occasionally staff peeking in. The VIP area is a separate room accessed near the club’s entrance desk. You must buy a $10 bracelet in order to get dances in the VIP area. Inside are about a dozen little cubicles with couches. VIP dances were $100 for 5 songs. There are cameras and occasionally bouncers and waitresses wandering through there, so privacy is not much better than the regular lap dance area. The bouncers collect the money and keep track of the songs.
