Sin Rock

I visited Sin Rock at about 10pm on Friday. The parking lot was almost full when I arrived. I don’t recall if there was a cover or not, but there was someone checking ID’s at the door. First impression was this club is higher end than most of the clubs in PDX. The layout of the club is interesting. There are video poker machines to the right as you walk in. To the left is the main stage, it has 2 poles and is fairly big. There is also a smaller stage in the back; it wasn’t used while I was there. The bar is against the back wall and runs the length of the main stage. There are some tables scattered in the open spaces between the stage and the bar and between the 2 stages. There are also some booths around the smaller stage at the back of the club. There are 2 lap dance areas, topless only in an elevated are near the smaller stage and VIP rooms they call the vault. I was told there are cameras in each of the VIP booths and in the topless lap dance area. One of the cool things they do is post the lap dance prices; there were signs at the bar and on each table. Overall this is one of the best appearing clubs in town.

The best part of the club on this night was the bartender and cocktail waitress. They were two of the best looking women in the club and both were very friendly. I recognized one as a dancer I had met before, not sure if she remembered me. The drinks were good; the prices were a little high, but not bad. All the staff was very laid back, but it seemed odd how many bouncer/managers there were for the size of the club. The DJ wasn’t one who liked to hear the sound of his voice and played a good mix of music.

There were only 6 or 7 dancers; various races and all shapes and sizes. There were none that really interested me. A friend I was with was interested in a Hispanic dancer, I don’t remember her name. She sat with us for at least 30 minutes talking, she seemed down to earth and cool. I never got the feeling she was hustling. A couple of the girls put on good stage shows, but most were just going through the motions. There weren’t many people sitting at the rack. I sat there for a while and a few bucks got quite a lot of attention. None of the dancers tried to hustle me for dances.

I would go back, but as others has mentioned there seem to have staffing issues with dancers, less than 10 on a Friday night seems odd for a nicer club in Portland.
