Pure Gold Only Game in Town
The Crazy Horse which is owned by the same club ownership group has closed, so the number of dancers at PG has increased. PG has always had aspirations to being the "nicer" club of the two. In their case this means that the bouncers wear ties instead of golf shirts. There is very limited (usually on 3-4) seats at the bar, which is cash only. You can start a tab with a waitress if you want to use a credit card. They recently reconfigured the VIP area slightly, but the VIP doesn't get crowded except for bachelor parties or the rare weekend night. There is seating along the stage, but except on crowded weekend nights, most people sit at tables on the floor or along the wall. For smokers or those who want to chat with a dancer who smokes, there is a patio with 5 tables. This is open air, so can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. The private dance room consists of booths, most of which are doubles so when it is busy or a House intro, you do not get much privacy, and even when you have the booth to yourself, the bouncers check on you at least once per dance. The shower room is in a back corner and allows some privacy for a lot more money, which varies based on the dancer, but minimum is going to be 100. The furniture is worn, and the carpet needs to be replaced. Supposedly PG is going to close for remodeling in August (with all action moving to Crazy Horse) so this section likely will need to be updated soon.
The ALE cracked down a couple of months back so the dancers can no longer drink. This has hurt the overall vibe somewhat as the dancers cant maintain their buzz as easily. Also, buying a drink is an alternative to getting a dance while allowing some time to chat, and that is hardly worth it for an $8 glass of fruit juice. Usually the waitresses are attentive, and as noted above you have to set up a tab with one to use a credit card. I cannot opine as to how honest they are on cards as I always pay cash. Most sets are 2 songs, with the top shed between songs. There is not a lot of tipping at the stage, so on most nights if you do, you will receive a "thank you" when the dancer comes out from backstage. The requests for private dances are steady, but usually not too high pressure. For some reason, there are not that many $10 table dances bought or offered. Not sure why given that the House gets $10 of the $30 for a private dance. On the floor, contact is limited, with more being allowed for a $20 dance in VIP. YMMV by dancer with the private dances, but the standard is plenty of grind and motorboating. Not a place where you are likely to get extras inside the club. Per NC law for a club selling alcohol, bottoms must always stay on.
There are a fair number of regular dancers, but almost always some new blood. Now that there is only one club, the overall attractiveness of the dancers has improved, but still is not as high as you would expect for a beach town. That may be because (according to the unreliable sources that are dancers) the money has not been great of late. Somewhat confirming this would be a number of dancers going down to Myrtle for better money. Usually fairly relaxed atmosphere. The manager Adam is very friendly and will greet with a smile and a handshake by your third visit. Most of the bouncers take their lead from him, but there will be the random guy who is on a power. Unfortunately one such is there now as I saw him hassle a harmless regular for no reason, but again most are cool so long as you don't touch on stage.
