Very different experience
I wasn't going to review the Cricket again, but this visit was a very different experience than I've had there ever before. First, it was packed. Apparently there was some sort of wedding/bachelor party that arrived ahead of us, as well as a birthday group. I have never seen the stage seats completely full at the Cricket, but they were, and the guys were throwing lots of money (for this place, anyway) at the girls. However, it appears the all-you-can drink deal is attracting the college crowd as most patrons seemed to be in their early 20s. They were a little rowdy, like a frat house event with constant hooting and hollering. One of them couldn't hold their booze as I found out in the vomit-covered bathroom. Not cool, and not cleaned up while we were there.
Dancer quality was also way down from their usual; there was one blonde with a killer body, even though she had to be 40+ and was trying to avoid dancing for "the kids" as she called them. She finally went to the stage and then never came back, guess she got over it as she was giving LDs to a line of kids. There was a chunky brunette, an absolutely stunning girl that appeared part Asian, one AA spinner, and then several beyond thick AA girls.
It was definitely a change from the usual laidback atmosphere. I saw plenty of the regular customers leave, many obviously disgusted with the frat house vibe. It did make money go far since we paid the cover and tipped the bartenders, but that was it - there was no room to sit at the stage, and no approaches for LDs. Still worth a visit, but be aware you might be walking into a roving frat party.
