I was in Denver on business in December. Decided to go out one night after the business associates had all retired for the evening. Was pretty sure that no one would notice because there was 4 inches of fresh snow on the ground and it was about -10 degrees. Only an idiot would head out but idiot pretty much describes me when it comes to clubbing :)

After some directional challenges, I pulled up to the Penthouse Club. Their parking is out back past the door, so I pulled around and tried to find a spot inside the snow. Having no winter jacket (again, idiot) I had to walk very briskly to the door. As I approached, I noticed someone chatting with a guy in a car outside. The car pulled away and the chatter made his way to the door. "Is it always like this in Denver?" I asked him in friendly conversation. He laughed, "Naw, it's normally nice." "I'm having trouble believing that." I replied. Well, by this time, we had made it in the door. "What's your name?" he asked as we went through the second entrance (arctic entry). I told him and he introduced himself as one of the managers. He then turned to the front desk girl and said "This is my friend. Make sure to take good care of him." She took my coat and shook her head when I removed my wallet to pay the cover. How cool is that! I thanked him and headed into the club proper.

The club is very large. Not obscenely large like some of the Vegas clubs but big enough for a serious party. The main floor has a VERY high ceiling, as the second floor is only on either end of the club, but not in the middle. There are 2 bars at either end of the room. The sides of the room have semi-private VIP booths. The center of the room is dominated by a large stage and there is another stage next to the raised level of the southern bar. In the north east corner of the room, stairs lead up to the Dance Area which also contains a fully nude stage. Signs boldly proclaim that no alcohol may be brought upstairs. The stairs in the southeastern corner of the room lead up to the VIP/Champange/High Rollers room. I couldn't see much but it looked nice, with nicer chairs and tables. The wall of that room was glass so I could see a lot of what occured near the wall/windows.
