Spearmint Rhino

The Spearmint Rhino chain always wants to be upscale which leads me to wonder why they would open one not only in Portland but in a rough area of Portland. It seems completely out of place.

This is a club with a full bar and fully nude like the rest of Portland OR. After a certain hour the DJ mainly plays rap which again, seemed out of place for Portland. There was a mixed crowd and seemed to be a lot of couples. I got the impression it was more of a "hang out" for some people than a strip club. The girls can charge their own prices for private dances but you're mainly looking at anywhere from 20-30 dollars for a single dance. They have a private VIP area for time slots but I didn't partake so I'm not sure what the prices are for those or the rules but I believe it's the same deal, the girls pick their own prices so you're looking at a variety of different rules and prices. The stage is kind of small with a tall but too thick pole in the center of it.

The girls were pretty for the most part. There were some girls with the typical tatted up alternative Portland look but for the most part there were a wider variety. There were mostly white girls though with a couple of black girls thrown in. This club is okay for the most part but seems a little out of place for "Portland' like it belongs somewhere else. I'm not sure how long it will be open.
