Pinellas County
This club has remained the same as far as the layout and general vibe. I don't think they have a DJ. It can have a party atmosphere that at times can be annoying in this small club. It seems to be worse in the summer time. Sometimes on these nights a bunch of lames stand around the stage and try to mooch off people that are actually tipping. It has always been a pro-dancer club with negotiable dance prices and no stage fees. What has become clear is that it can also be anti-customer at times. This club hinges on dancer quality. It is above average but it still has problem strippers. These fall into two categories. The first is past their prime older gym rat dancers. They have a tight body but on closer inspection they fail due to bad looks and tanning bed damaged skin. The second is lazy bitches. Stripping has long been a refuge for extremely lazy females because it does not penalize them as much for this as other occupations would. Both of these faults can intersect and are subsidized by the negotiable dance price system. This makes it more difficult for a customer who has been the victim of poor performance from one of these dancers to shut it down after only one dance because their 1 for $30 2 for $50 3 for $60 nonsense. Joe Redner thinks he still has the right policy prescription, but even during this election season I am not in favor of a wage floor for these whores. This allows them to under-perform at limited risk to themselves. They wouldn't have this problem with fixed dance prices. At other clubs they dance for $20 per song and then the house might tax the customer directly. I could see how asking them to dance for $20 might make it tough to keep better dancers since there is no champagne room. But as I have stated before even $25 per dance is better than the current system. Then the customer can stop after one song easier if dealing with a lame dancer. Basically the current system creates perverse incentives. I don't really buy dances but I have observed and had conversations with these dancers, and I also know that the current system allows some less savvy customers to get conned into grossly over paying. Some of these fools, hopefully a small number, actually pay $30 per dance for multiple songs! My work in Tampa is finished for the time being so I don't see myself back here soon, but because of the issues I have described I think I long break is in order. Basically I have found the club more annoying over time, but I did enjoy at least some of my few visits here.
