Disappoinitng

I was in the area and had wanted to try the Candy Store. I had a coupon for a $2 well drink plus I had heard if not good things, at least not bad things here and elsewhere. Even as a neighborhood bar it was disappointing to me. I know if the music is too loud, you are too old and perhaps this applies; but the music here was at least 10 decibels above Hi liter and 15 above BSC. One had to shout loudly to easily carry on a conversation and even then words were missed.

The club has two basic areas. As you come in there is large room to the left with a large stage. The bar with some seats and a smaller stage with a pool table is to the right. I was there on a Monday about 5 and there was no one in the larger room except a dancer and about 6 people at the bat with no dancer on the stage.

It was odd to me that the dancer was dancing where there was no one. The explanation from one dancer was that it wasn’t crowded so they were doing two stages in the larger room. Since no one was in the larger room, this made little sense to me, but communication was difficult because of the loud music.
