Late Night at the Vu

I went to Deja Vu on a friday night/saturday morning in June. I had been out at some regular bars earlier and did not feel like calling it a night. I have visited this bar many times over the last 20 years. I had not been here in at least 6 years. The club had evolved with some new furniture. The new entrance used to be more of a porno boutique but, I guess since porn dvd's have faded out, they can use the space for other stuff. I arrived there around 2:15 am. I was shocked the sign said they stay open until 6am. They used to close at 4am. The staff offered me a price of either $20 cover or $30 cover and my first dance would be free. I decided to do the $30 option as they looked at me like I was cheap for questioning how it would work. Turns out once I sat down, there was no free dance so, go with the $20 admission. It seemed to include the free soda and juice. There were tons of girls working. Well over 25 dancers. Some were 8's and 9's. Cute college girl types. Too many had tatoos and I am just not into seeing that. They would do a role call type of dance where the dj announces the girls by name as they stroll past the stage. Then they would come around and ask guys if they wanted a dance. The crowd was mostly young guys in their mid 20's.. One girl climbed on the guy next to me and kept saying "he's so cute" and grinding on him. I'm 45, as it turns out, I was the token dirty old man in the club. I used to make fun of that guy when I was 25. So, I checked out all the girls and it was nice eye candy. I did not chase any of the hot one's down for what I had a feeling would be a mediocre dance at best. I think of it as that I saved a ton of money. The girls should think older guy equals more money but, that doesn't always sink in..I would try the place again sometime in the future, maybe on a slower night. I would also be more aggressive right when walking in. It seems if you tip some girls right when you walk in, they see you as a spender. If you sit off to the side, and make little effort, they see you as a lurker.
