visit before it closes!

Another central London strip pub is about to bite the dust. The White Horse will close on 30th July as the new landlords are asking for an exorbitant increase in the rent. They have been open about 30 years, under the same management, and it is one of the first strip pubs I visited. For a long time it was one of the few pubs that did not have private dancing which made it a cheap place to go, just a £1 in the jug when the next dancer due on stage collects plus your drinks. They did succumb to private dances a few years ago, table dancing, not lap dancing, but at just £10 before 6pm every day, and very little hassle from the girls for a dance it remained a pleasant and fairly cheap time in there. Prices varied between £10 and £20 after 6pm depending on the day. It has been quiet in the afternoons when I have visited which was the case this time until about 3.30 when it got pretty busy.6 girls on the first shift, 1pm to 4.30pm. All the girls were natural which is always nice, although there are some dancers there who have been surgically "enhanced", which I personally hate. There is a good selection of beers, particularly lager, where I counted 5 draught lines. There is rarely any trouble and never in the afternoons. It is a shame that yet another strip pub is closing.
