Standard NYC Club
It seems like Cheetah's has a bad reputation, so I always avoided it. But I was wandering around Times Square, and a pass for free admission convinced me it was worth a shot. Even if it wasn't anything special, I can't say I was disappointed.
The layout is essentially two big areas. Like a lot of clubs, you enter to a bar with no view of the main room or dancers. I was also surprised there weren't any dancers lingering or hanging with customers. Just an assortment of people drinking. I grabbed a drink and made my way into the club.
Inside is a good sized space, with a fairly large stage at the back and lots of tables and chairs. At this hour (after midnight on a Thursday) there were still a bunch of guys getting lap dances and watching the stage, but it was very easy to find a nice spot to relax. As soon as I sat down it was an endless line of girls looking for dances. Hate to say, most of them weren't that interesting to me. But none of them were pushy, and when I turned a few away they didn't get upset and the other girls didn't start ignoring me. And when I had just one lap dance each from a couple different girls, they didn't push for more dances or try to up-sell on private rooms. No begging for dollars, either.
