Meh

I think the Sundowner has pretty much leveled off to be an average club at this point. It's pretty rare to see more than a handful of 7-UP's in here on any given night, yet it does always get full on weekends. Basically, for my last couple of visits, I found it to be like sifting through a massively crowded club but wondering what all the fuss was about, since the dancer quality was certainly nowhere near Vegas level yet given how many people are in the club, you keep thinking it has to get better.....yet it never does.

The dancer pool feels like a mix of stuck-up Montreal airdancers, aggressive EE 30-somethings, attitudey, average-looking young Toronto girls, and a few friendly MILF's who are actually the saving grace of the club dance-wise, since they are down-to-earth, still attractive, give good dances, and don't rip you off. Harley comes to mind (though I haven't seen her here recently).

A Friday or Saturday night will always feature the standard bachelor party scene with the groom on stage in his underwear getting absolutely whacked with his belt by some girl. And with the frenzied weekend atmosphere feeding the dancer, the force of the whips are just ridiculous. As an aside, I can't believe people actually enjoy this. Women in general have it pretty damn good in North America and men are figuratively getting "whipped" every day economically, socially, politically, etc. I know I wouldn't let any true male friend of mine go up there to be subjected to that garbage which is conveyed as being "all in good fun." Hey, maybe it's fun for some guys. But it sure gets tiresome at a strip club. And at Sundowner, it's pretty much the highlight of your night. Pretty sure it happens twice a night sometimes.
