Regulars

This review covers a handful of visits over the past three months. It is as much a review as a comment on a particularly annoying tendency of this club. I and others have noted that many of the dancers seem tied on very short leashes to regulars. I was there one day when this was particularly annoying.

I was at Brad’s on a Saturday afternoon to early evening, and the top three dancers, all 8s, all of whom I have danced with before and got great dances from, were tied up with regulars for multiple hours each. The kicker is only one of the three ever did any dances for her regular. Eventually, that dancer finally wore out/drained the wallet of her regular and got free, so the day was not a complete loss, just close.

The club really needs to do something about this. Part of the draw of the regulars seems to be that most do not ask dances of their dancers, but just pay them for their time to talk with them. More likely is that the dancers may not need to give the house a cut for nondancing activities. If that’s the case, not only is BBF missing out on its share, it is also probably losing customers over this.
