I've been to Mario's many times, and reviewed it quite a bit as well, but this review covers a new experience - going early in the week. The typically Thursday/Friday scene, I have learned, is VASTLY different than the Monday/Tuesday scene.

I found myself coming through the area on a BOS/NY trip a couple weeks ago, and stopped here once each trip. Inside, the club is obviously less busy early in the week than towards the end, but it's not dead.

What is absolutely BIZARRE is that for whatever reason they don't have enough girls to keep up with the amount of guys in the place. The girls are never hustlers here like you would find in Boston (the capital city of ripoffs) or Providence (a different kind of hustle), but on Friday when you sit down you will be approached quickly and politely. Early in the week, no chance. There were actually probably more than 10 dancers working, but you'd never know it; they all hid out back and only came out for shift change; a bizarre process where they stand on the corner of the stage and chit-chat with each other. This is obviously a practice that has devolved from a parade into a conversation, and no one seems to care.
