Is Ecstasy an ironic name for this club?
I was coming back from South Coast Plaza this particular afternoon, and decided to swing up to Warner Ave and check out Ecstasy one more time. It must be more than a year since I'd been here. I was one of three patrons that I could see in the club at that time, so I guess I would get my choice of anyone in the club. At first I saw two girls. One, a slightly chunky matronly lady, who was on stage. The other, a little blonde, heavily tattooed, who was putting a sales job on some guy just across the room from me. No one else. Eventually, however, three other ladies made an appearance. None of them appealed to me, although each in turn came by and tried to seduce me into a dance. Seriously, at $50 a pop, it will take someone super fine. I saw the blonde disappear with her gentleman into the curtained off dance area, and they stayed there for some time. After that the blonde went back and came out for her stage performance. Other than the tats, she was pretty cute. After her performance she came by, and I (stupidly) agreed to a dance. I can't remember her name. But it was a pretty lame performance for fifty bucks. She kept a distance for most of the time, but at the end got a lot more cozy, hoping I suppose to entice me to try another. I was having none of it. I have gotten better dances at Flamingo on Ball R in Anaheim for ten dollars a pop on the benches. When will I learn not to give in to my baser urges?
