Lollipops

Was in Daytona for business and made arrangements to get together OTC with a stripper from another club in town. We decided to get a few drinks at Lollipops, which is just off the main nightclub area on Seabreeze Boulevard. Being from the area, my girl knew the background of the place.

The door guy charged me a $5 cover but let my girl in for free. Behind the doorman was a set of large screens that blocked the view of the club. After I paid the $5 and walked around the screens, it was apparent why they were there. They probably didn’t want to scare off paying customers by letting them see how dead the place was.

Lollipops is a pretty big club. There is a large island bar immediately to the front as you walk in. The stage is past that an a little to the left. Between the bar and the stage is a large seating area, and to the right is an even larger seating area. The place probably has a crowd capacity of over 500, but there were only about a half-dozen customers, all sitting at the bar. There was a group of four, including another girl at one end of the bar. At the other end a lone 40-ish Hispanic guy, and another younger guy with a crew cut who was just wandering around.
