Late night run to Parkway Tropics

Was in GR for the weekend and decided late on Saturday to see what the city had to offer with it's club scene. I rolled in to Parkway Tropics at 1am with a larger group. Not the nicest looking place and it's the middle of a residential neighborhood, almost seems like an old school or office building. Walk in and the bouncer is straight ahead taking cover at $5 a pop. The bouncer was rightfully apprehensive of a bunch of drunk guys coming in so late, but the slight napoleon complex exhibited was far from charming.

The club was packed, definitely divey, dingey and relaxed but had a weird layout: bar in the middle, pool tables in the front, floor level dance floor in the back, rickety cat walk from the stage to the bar with seats and small tables on either side, and a pretty wide open lap dance area on the side.

One drink minimum at about 4 bucks, not bad for a club. Dancers on stage weren't putting much effort into their single girl sets, which made the show at a dissapointing bikini bar even more so. They would leave the dance floor to grind on guys at the rail, and there were few tips being given. As for the dancers themselves, they were mostly 5/6/7 with one 9. Being in a group and as it wasn't topless, I had no interest in getting a lapdance, so I can't comment there.
