After many visits to ATL over the years I finally heeded the TUSCL "wisdom of crowds" and paid a visit to Follies. Gentlemen, you did not steer me wrong. Arrived around 12:30 pm via Uber, enjoyed the entry pat-down from the hot chick at the door, and waited for my eyes to adjust. The many physical descriptions in other reviews have it right--dark, smoky, low-ceiling club with a sunken rectangular bar in the center (2-3 steps below the table seating area); stages to the left and right of the bar area (as you enter). While many strip club day shifts get off to a slow start, that's not the case here--lots of customers and several dancers, with more ladies steadily emerging from the dressing room. Scored one of the coveted high-top tables along the wall to the right, grabbed a beer ($5), and settled in. Within five minutes I had forgotten about the generally shabby furnishings and poor stage lighting and began to enjoy the continuous parade of dancers offering company. Follies veterans know what happened next--I happily sampled the theatrical stylings of maybe 15 dancers over the next 3 hours. What made Follies a great experience for me came down to two factors. First, a $10 lap dance is low-risk. Taking a girl for a test-drive with no commitment allows a PL like me to sample lots of options; if the chemistry isn't right, you simply send them on their way. Second, the amazing range of sizes, shapes, colors, and "option packages" among the dancers was unmatched by any previous strip club experience. Dancer diversity is a huge plus, and Follies truly has a "paddle for every a$$."

As the afternoon went on, I enjoyed the talent which kept appearing in front of me. Ultimately, I connected with an AA dancer who, while no more or less attractive than a half-dozen others that day, really floated my particular boat. No VIP trip for me this time, and because I was at a high-top there was no advantage to finding a spot on the (crowded) couches near the door. The best part was "risk management"--a couple of girls with a big ROB vibe came by; a $10 dance confirmed my suspicions and I paid them to leave after a song, thereby minimizing the damage to wallet and ego. All in all, I'm glad I followed the advice from this site.
