Decent Enough Time, But at a Cost

I went to Saphire on a whim. Met a long time friend in Vegas and he wanted to go. This was a first time experience to a club in Las Vegas for either of us, so right off the bat we learned what others have mentioned about the taxi situation, that is to say, if you arrive by taxi you will have to pay an inflated entry so that the club can give a kick back to the taxi driver. Not a big deal to me as I'm not an extreme frequenter of clubs, nor of Las Vegas, so we were there to have a good time.

Right when we walked in we noticed and commented on how huge the place was. To date, Saphire is the largest club that I have seen. It had a real dance club feel, as opposed to the low-end bar feel you can get in some strip clubs. Overall, I give good marks to the layout and feel. High-end. As I recall there were at least a couple stages, but maybe three. It's hard to say because we ended up spending no time at the stage at all, to my dismay.

The reason we spent no time at the stage was because immediately upon entering we were greeted by two dancers who offered to "give us a tour" of the club. In our naivety in regards to Las Vegas clubs, we accepted. This would prove to be a mistake; not because we didn't have a good time, but because now, knowing better, I like to club a little differently. The two dancers took us first to the bar, and as I recall they actually verbalized that they wanted us to buy them a drink. We obliged, and spent what I think is way too much on four drinks. I can't recall the price of the alcohol, as I was the only one not drinking that night, but the Red Bull I ordered was something like $18. At a different club in Las Vegas, that I like much more, I pay $6 for the same.
