Getting Better

I had not been in a while, but a friend was bartending here, so I went in. The management changed here about a year ago and there has been noticeable improvement in the service and the overall feel of this club. It is still not plush like Rick's or Penthouse, but it has better furniture than it did. The really interesting thing about the club is that it has one of the better seating areas for watching sports in the French Quarter. TV's are a second thought in all the other clubs, but this place has created a nice comfortable section with several televisions on a wall. They were charging a $25 cover the night I was in there because of a fight that was on, but I don't think it is normally that expensive. In most of the French Quarter, you can go to a high end place for comfort, but few tv's or a low end place for lots of tv's but little comfort. Since I prefer to hang in strip clubs, the combination of comfort and lots of tv's is welcome to me. The dancers are a mixed bag as at most French Quarter clubs. You will find a range of 5- 9's depending on when you are there. Most are willing to sit and chat if you buy them a drink and don't kill you with "wanna dance" every two minutes. I didn't partake of any dances, but it looked like a standard YMMV type of place.The Saturday night I was there, it did not start filling up until 10 pm or so. To me, this is a great place to get off Bourbon for a couple of hours if there is a sporting event you are interested in seeing. They also have a kitchen with a menu of basic fried barfood that was pretty good. (After three hours of beer, I was starving and broke my no eating in clubs rule). Best of all, my bill at the end of the night was more like one in a regular Bourbon street bar than Penthouse or Ricks experience of, "I spent how much?" In sum, this isn't a high end club, but they are actually now getting the neighborhood sports bar with boobs feel to the place that they used to advertise, but did not have.
