Night at the Roxi, what a D'Lite!

I heard about a burlesque type dancer named Roxi D'Lite doing a few shows on Friday and Saturday nights May 13th and 14th, so I made sure to catch her performance on the first night. I tried calling ahead to see what time, but the employee of the club told me they are not sure, maybe around 9 or 10pm. The first show did not start until 11:30 PM. Needless to say, waiting around for well over 2 hours had me pretty much intoxicated on the club's booze. I'm not sure when they got the beer tap, but there was a special of 2 mugs for $8.50. Only two flavors on tap though, Heineken and Old Castle Ale. I probably drank half the Heineken keg by myself waiting around. That is a sneaky good tactic by the club management, holding the main feature entertainment off till really late at night, while everyone gets shit faced waiting around for the show, LOL. Also, the lap dances were the usual 30/dance this night, and the dancer drinks $14.25. The dancer ratio was about 50/50 black to white, with one Asian dancer in the mix. The usual drink and dance hustle was going on while waiting for the feature show to start.

When the show I had come to watch came on, it started with the spot lights shooting up the dancer entrance stairs. Out steps Roxi D'Lite and down the steps to the stage, while the spotlights kept up with her. She was absolutely fantastic, and had quite the stage presence as she engaged many of the onlookers. I also noticed that she had a different strut than the usual pole dancers do. A highly energetic show girl strut as she slowly worked her costume off. She came over to where I was seated and beckoned me to get up with a finger giving the come hither. I stood up I got a face full of Roxi's ample boobs as she grabbed me behind my head and smothered me. She also handed out poster size pictures of herself. Not sure if she came out later to sign them or not. I tipped her the last of the money I had, then exited the club after she left the stage. I would say the Gold Club got it right with featuring Roxi D'Lite.

I tried to catch the annual pole dance competition a week earlier on Saturday night, but again the supposed 9 PM start got delayed well past 10:15 PM. I had another engagement that night, and had to leave before the first dancer went up to compete, so I ended up missing that event. If you go to see an event at the Gold Club, be ready for a long night if you show up around 8 or 9pm in order to be sure not to miss anything, and then find yourself waiting till near midnight.
