Contact dances now available at Wanda's
I went there on a Wednesday evening, so not when the club is most busy. For those who don't know, Wanda's since January has been allowing contact dances - a real change, since the club was long known as the sole holdout in the city on this score. You can still get non-contact dances on the main floor ($10 a pop), but you can also take a dancer upstairs for $15 contact dances. There's no entry fee officially, but they require you to buy a drink for yourself and the dancer when you go up - so really a $20 fee. The booths upstairs are nice and roomy, draped with red curtains and with large couches.
The dancers here are generally quite attractive, with a large number of young dancers, but also some veterans who decided to stick around after the club changed its rules. There isn't too much pressure for dances; the dancers seemed genuinely friendly and pretty laidback. The club itself has pretty nice decor, with large couches, and a lot of space in the back room. There was only one stage in use the night I was there, but there's another stage toward the back that I'm sure gets used on weekends.
So all in all, not a bad place. Not too far from Chez Paree, but a little more intimate, and the dancers are a little less hot.
