I have realized that Mons is a pretty consistent club at the present time. Whether that means consistently good is more based on your preferences. For example it is still small with limited seating, non alcoholic beverages only, and it is judged based on some kind of legendary reputation. Anyone who does any research before they go to this club should have there expectations calibrated properly. The only logical way to evaluate clubs in my view is based on each experience, so based on that I have enjoyed most of my visits to Mons even though that has only been a few times when I am in town for work. On this visit the dancer quality was good which seems to be the major reason why people still some here, and although it was a $20 cover this is on par with cover at most non-alcoholic clubs in major cities. I think they were charging more at one point. This is still a party club meaning it can get packed to elbow room only so it best to go on off peak times. The good news is it mostly tourists and newer had an issue with the thug factor here. The only major gripe I have is the stupid negotiable dance prices. I don't really buy dances but I still get quoted the prices, and I think it is stupid. Usually the pitch goes 1 $30 and 2 for $50. I think this is is an example of Joe Redner trying to be a more "enlightened" strip owner by showing that he gives the girls freedom and doesn't take their money. He may be right that not charging a stage fee helps them attract better dancers. But following the established big city norm of $25 per dance is much better than the stupid haggle system over $5. As stated earlier I buy very few dances but this pricing system makes it unlikely that I ever will buy dances at this club. There is no lap dance on the planet worth more than $25 which is why that even the most attractive dancers cannot sell multiple dances at the $30 price point. So in effect the system probably subsidizes the few shitty dancers who can't sell more than one dance because they suck. It is kind of like a weird form of strip club socialism. So for this reason at Mons I mainly just hang out and enjoy the stage show for a few hours. If you understand fully what this club is and is not, you can have a good time here as I did on this visit.
