Thursday

I went in on Thursday afternoon afterwork to see what was happening. I have to say the dayshift isn't quite what it has been in the past. Maybe it's the heat or the economy or something I'm not considering but, though it's still a fine club I must be getting old because I remember when things were better.

There were plenty of dancers but not nearly as many impressive ones as I'm used to. I ordered a beer and sat in the back, seeing the crowd and wondering what to do when I saw a cute blonde named after a Boston song on stage. I tipped, she thanked me, and asked if I wanted some company when she was done.

I allowed that I did and she came over after her stage was through. One dance on the floor was terrific, and she promised they'd be better in VIP. Which they were. A LOT better. I left lighter in the wallet but much happier than when I arrived. So even though things aren't as great as they once were, dig a little and you might find a diamond scattered among the coal.
