Old-Reliable Feels a Little Old-Hat

I’ve been dropping by Cheetahs just about every 6 months on our semi-annual guys’ trips to Vegas for the last 8 years. It used to be, every time we went, we had a blast. Lately, every visit feels like something little changes. First the remodel, which we didn’t hate, then the loss of a few long-time favorites, which was a bummer. My buddies and I usually take advantage of the 2/$20 dances before 7pm, and there are usually decent prices on buckets of beer. Lately, we’ve noticed several the dancers are less willing to do the discount dances on floor at your table, and would rather move to the couches area near the front. This area directly faces the bouncers hanging out by the free pizza counter. It’s not that I expect any crazy mileage outside of V.I.P., but personally I feel like magic is lost when you spend your time facing the big dudes. But, hey, it’s only $10, right? Speaking of which, there are even a couple afternoon girls who will actually say “I don’t do the 2 for $20, I just do VIP”. Umm, ok, good luck with that on the day shift…on a Tuesday… I’m sure we’ll keep going back for a while, it’s still la decent place to spend a chill afternoon away from the buzz of the strip. I’ve just noticed myself feeling more like “sure, I suppose we can drop by” versus, “Oh man, we gotta go!”
