Good... if you like the tats / vamp thing

Star Garden, a joint that inspires... difference of opinion. The ratings seem either great or terrible. Here's my 2c on that. First the good: the club is (only) moderately popular. I went there recently on a Thursday at 11pm... prime time on a 'shoulder' day, which is perfect for assessing a place. There were about 10 girls there and 18 guys. Good ratio. Not dead, not over-packed with sausage. The bar is well stocked. Lots of different kinds of beers. The girls are friendly and sociable. Smiles, friendly let's-chat-and-hang vibe, and no pressure. The main stage is slightly raised, but not so high as to be inaccessible. And there's a 2nd stage that is tucked away in a corner with just enough room for about 8 seats. Nice for close-up tipping. Plus a live DJ. So looks good "on paper".

The main 'feature' of the club though are the dancers. Pretty much every girl there has the multi-tats, vamp thing going on. Black lipstick. Pierced lips and noses. Tattoos overlapping with more tattoos. Dreads in the hair. And black. Lots of black. Not black, as in African-Amer. (In fact, just about every one of the girls there was white.) Just black with everything you can hang on a dancer... earrings, stockings, lipstick, shoes.

Is that hot?? Depends on your tastes. Personally, it's not my thing, so I didn't stay long. But I know more than a couple of buddies that would be in heaven. So if that's you, then Star Garden is your new Home Club. Enjoy!
