Great alternative to other La Zona Bars

I visit La Zona Norte about four times a year. During my first couple of visits, I rarely left the confines of the two biggest and most popular bars in the area. Over time, as I got more familiar with TJ, I ventured out, and quickly discovered that there are other alternatives, and there are some very good reasons to consider them.

Bar Tropical is one of them. It is affiliated with the huge club across the street, but oftentimes features the newer, less sharky girls that have just made it to TJ.

If generally find the meseros (waiters) to be more attentive. Although, you still need to be careful. Any mesero in any strip club in town will collude with dancers, bartenders, and others to extract as much of your hard-earned dinero as quickly as possible. If you are going to visit LZN, you need to learn the various tricks of the trade they will employ upon you. The most common is the phantom bucket of beer that a dancer will "drink." As you think you are getting her drunk, she is simply faking her way through the bucket and turning 3/4 full beers upside down into the bucket that fills with 6 oz of beer with each "empty" she places in the bucket.
