Meh...

Saturday evening 6-ish to 8 pm or so. Dancers atractive, mostly Russian, but WAY too much trolling for obligatory $1 tip, to the point of being pushy. Lap dances not secluded, and I didn't get one. Goon in a suit enforcing a no-hat rule that evidently applies to customers only.

Normally I tip at the stage quite well for a white guy (that is, I don't throw ones and "make it rain", but I do tip each dancer a few bucks at least). And, I usually get private dances, but the hard sell here was really a boner-killer, so I opted to bail out and call it a night. Dancers dance on an elevated stage behind the bar, and come around soliciting tips after their short set. I made the mistake of sitting at the bar having a conversation with a dancer and not even watching the stage when they had a "roll-call" like presentation. About a dozen or so dancers each came around nearly demanding a tip, and the gal I was talking to kept goading me into tipping each of them. So I did, then explained that the money I just gave away would have been spent on a private dance with her had it not just been passed out to the parade. Really, thirty bucks or so in tips is no big deal; it really was the pushy attitude that was irritating. That and the fact that when I walked in wearing a golf cap, this goonish bouncer (I presume) in a cheap suit approached me and aggressively told me to take off the hat, finishing with "it's after five pm, SIR". Immediately after that, the bar back came out with a bucket of ice and a baseball cap on. Apparently they hold there standards high for the customers only, not caring if the employees a) have manners or b) follow their dress code.

IF you're going there with the plan to dump a wad of cash and you really don't care, I get the impression the place can be quite fun. But if you prefer a more laid-back and friendly experience, I recommend you shop elsewhere. This is my first visit to a New York area gentleman's club, so maybe this vibe is the norm, but I sure hope it isn't.
