Weird Vibe After Dark
After a night at Electric Blue for a bachelor party, I decided to hit this place up on the way home. I usually hit up the alcohol/topless side around happy hour and I hadn't been back here in years so I wasn't sure what to expect. Cover to get in on a Friday night (around 11 PM) was $20 so there was some instant sticker shock with that. The slight plus is that once you pay, you can go back and forth between the alcohol side without having to pay again. There is also a strictly enforced two drink minimum on the juice side so prepare for that too.
Since the club is alcohol free, the vibe is decidedly younger. Lots of teenagers and college students. When I got there, the place was full. The stage is directly in front when you walk in. Every seat was taken and the 10-15 tables were full as well. There were 3-4 tables with people smoking hookahs. There were two girls on stage and I saw one walking around. The was a group of three dancers huddle into a corner and not mingling. The vibe was definitely off...it didn't seem like anybody was really spending any money so it seemed tense. The lap dance area is in the back and it looked empty. The Champagne Room is strange...no current to the entrance so I could see right inside. Very brightly lit (I guess so you can take in the view) with maybe 9 narrow booths in an inverted U. It was empty too. Needless to say, I chalked up my $20 cover as a loss and headed over to the bar side and had a much better experience. Lap dances over here are $35, so $10 more than on the topless side. One last thing...the door says the nude side opens at 7:00 PM but it is more like 9:00 PM per what I've been told.
If you want a nude club, it's the only game in town but they know this and they try to milk you for all your worth. I'd avoid it.
