J's in Melrose

If I had to describe this place in one word, it would be "frantic". I don't get there often, but I can see the changes over time. It used to be sparcely populated, but has become much more popular than it used to be. The place is kind of small, with a bar that runs the full length. There is a Beef Stand attached, so food is plentiful and good.I was there a little before midnight and the place was pretty full, the music was loud, and there were quite a few dancers. They mostly hang out with their regulars, but there are enough of them that they often break free and work the room. All they do is, approach and engage in some light weight discussion and then ask if you would like a dance. The dances are usually as good as you would get anywhere, and cost 20. The dancers are independent and you can negotiate for multiples. I have no knowledge of TO, but nothing would surprise me.
