One of the last few Vancouver clubs left standing
The No. 5 Orange is one of the few Vancouver clubs still standing, and while the entire scene in the city has seen a pretty big downturn, the No. 5 remains a decent spot for a beer and some naked girls. Just don't expect too much.
The location is right on the border of being on a seedy street - it's just a block or two away from the Downtown East Side, which is the sketchiest area in the city. Bear that in mind if you're driving here - probably a good idea to park further out. The club itself is pretty divey in a charming sort of way, if that's your thing. It's not very big, and seating can be an issue on crowded nights - good chance you may end up having to settle for standing room. Beer is a bit on the expensive, but that's par for the sc course. You can make reservations but they usually don't help too much, so don't worry about it if you don't.
But the part that everyone cares about - the girls. The quality is fine, looks-wise. Solid. Mostly 7s, the occasional 8-9. Pretty steady rotation. Some good-looking girls who definitely know how to work the pole, and if you're in the seats you're going to get a good view. Toward the end of the night, some of the girls will get pretty active trying to push lapdances. Re: the lapdances... really pricey. $50 a pop. Standard for the city but overpriced for anywhere else. Rumour has it that the #5 is the only sc in the city that offers contact dances. Only one member of our party got a few dances and he reported the contrary. Good looking girl, no contact. Pricey dances. There it is. YMMV, I suppose.
