Went back to Rick's following an event at MSG recently. As usual, the first floor was PACKED and the dancers were super pushy with "asking" for dances/drinks. Never felt like I could relax there without getting hustled. The place has three floors (one of which is the steakhouse) and I didn't venture up beyond floor one this time. The dancers have small individual stages to perform on that are floor-level; there's nothing too exciting going on with the stage performances. Lap dances offer more roaming than one would expect with the amount of bouncers that patrol the floor...but expect the upsell to VIP multiple times throughout the dances. Overall average of 6's working the night we went, which was disappointing. It's a shame because the place offers a very cool, clean atmosphere. The staff/bouncers are professional and work the floor/check on the tables without being invasive, which is refreshing. We had a small group and were being well behaved when one of us had an incident with a dancer, who complained about him using his phone (thought he was snapping pics which he wasn't). She made a pretty good scene and brought a bouncer over, who simply moved the dancer to the other side of the club after we explained the scenario to him. I thought it was a well handled incident, so kudos to the staff here.
I don't know if I'll ever have a "great" time here, but considering how accessible it is with NY Penn so close by its hard to complain.
