A Whole Lot Better Than I Expected
I haven’t been clubbing much this year due to a reduction of hours at my job and due to having a UTR civilian freak. I had the itch to return to Babes after almost six months. This used to be one of my favorite go-to clubs as I was a known regular here in late 2014 and early 2015. I stopped being a regular because I could no longer get those high mileage freaky dances on the floor due to management. I really just wanted to chill, see what’s changed about the club, get a few dances, and call it an evening. However, my expectations were far exceeded to the extent that I may have to put the club in my rotation again.
The club is located on Fulton Industrial Circle which is right off of Fulton Industrial Boulevard. It is in a small semi-abandoned shopping center complete with a shitty ass parking lot. The parking lot is terrible...almost as bad as the parking lot at Foxy Lady Lounge. I arrived here late yesterday afternoon at 5:00 and stayed just before 7:00 P.M. Nothing much has changed layout wise. The notable exception is that they have added what seems like a special VIP seating area on the right side of the club. The ATM is now back after months of it being missing. Apparently, someone had stolen the ATM but it is back now.
Music is mostly hardcore rap music with a few party-oriented R&B tracks. I like the music here because they play a lot of underground songs that are not mainstream. DJ K-Bass (the really big DJ with the dreads) was on the 1’s and 2’s during this shift. He’s my favorite DJ here because he doesn’t do a lot of talking and obnoxious one-liners like the other ones. He may speak on the mic from time to time but he is usually quiet. Songs are shortened some but he is not nearly as bad as DJ D-Nasty with his ridiculous song-cutting. DJ D-Nasty was the one that I called out in my last October review of this club.
