Best-quality, but most expensive, club in Winston
Maybe it's having come directly from Filly's that night (see previous review), but Savannah's was super impressive to me. I've been there twice before, once on a dead Tuesday, once on an energetic weekend. This night was again high-energy and was a ton of fun. The 2.5 star rating on this club is complete nonsense, at least where it is now. The best I can figure it had some hiccups when it first switched over to new management, and it sounds like the weeknights and day shifts might be a bit lacking, but for a Friday or Saturday night show you can't do better in Winston Salem (and only equal in Greensboro, with Christie's or Treasure Club).
The club physically is rather nice, with a large stage and a tall (15 - 20 foot?) pole. Chairs at the stage are pretty basic, but behind those are much plusher cloth chairs at the tables. The club itself isn't huge, but feels just right - big enough to have a large crowd, but small enough to let that crowd really make the place feel bustling and fun. There's a secondary "go-go-cage-style" stage to the right that will have the previous performer dancing in it for two songs if it's a busy night. Great opportunity to get more up close and personal if you were a fan of the previous show. The staff is also very attentive, checking on drinks, helping seat you, and generally being available for anything. Feels much more like a nice hotel than a Motel 8, like some other clubs in the area.
As nice as the physical club and service are, the dancers themselves are the real stand-out for the club (at least that night), at least for my taste. They were almost entirely white, and generally erred on the thinner, smaller-busted, but athletic side. If you're looking for big boobs and butts there were a few girls there who could help you, but overall they were more average weight to thin. For me, the advantage here was that most were fantastic dancers, both on the ground and doing great stuff on the tall pole. Some of them came out with such an energy and enthusiasm that guys (and some gals) just jumped up to the stage and started throwing money at it. Others were a little more subdued but still would make an attempt at the pole and put on a better show than anything at certain other [cough...Filly's...cough] clubs in the area. If your main goal is to sit back, have a few drinks, and watch some fantastic strippers dancing on stage, you can't do better than Savannah's if you're in Winston.
