Not Worth the Time

I live around the area of Tassels and had passed it many times, wondering how good it could be - a little rectangular building, with the quintessential neon sign out front "Tassels". The opportunity came up on a whim when a few friends were in town. This is not a mistake we will ever make again! We spent about an hour there and left.

When we pulled into the gravel parking lot, we parked for free, but there was a $10 cover charge at the door. After entering we saw that the place was a little bigger than expected. There's a bar as soon as you walk in, a small stage against the back wall, seats along the facing wall, and about 6-8 small tables in the middle of the room. The place was very dark, so I couldn't tell for sure that it was dirty, but that was definitely the sense it put off. It made me think of what a truck stop club would be like.

The first thing we did after entering was order a couple of beers - I forget exactly how much they were, but I remember thinking they were expensive, but not the worst I've experienced in clubs. The dancers were very nice as people, but really not much to look at. There was maybe one good-looking one, but she would probably be a 5 if compared to dancers at other clubs - here she was a relative 8. They were definitely not pushy, but they clearly paid more attention to the regulars. You could easily pick out who they were and it amazed me that this place even has regular customers.
