sinclair's Review

I stopped by Goldiggers at 21:30 on a Tuesday evening while bar hopping in Manitowoc. The club is right in downtown at the terminus of US 151. There was no cover charge. The majority of the inside is dominated by a bar. There is a stage on the left wall about three feet off the ground. You have to stand to tip the stage. It appears there was a secondary stage behind the bar near the window at one point, but it is now used as storage. There is a shower stall at the end of the main stage for shower shows, but it was not used. A Sincweiser was $4. The bartenders were thick, cheese-fed Wisconsin ladies. Music was played off of a TouchTunes jukebox, but later in the evening, it was played off a laptop on the bar. All music was picked by the dancers and turned out to be ghetto rap. The ATM was broken, and it had a sign telling you to go to the ATM at the bar next door, Legend Larry’s. The club has a sign saying that cell phones with cameras are not allowed in the club, but I did not test to see if that rule was actually enforced.

There were seven dancers on shift (Korona, Cherry, Bella, Dallas, Barbie, and two others). Four were African-American, two were Caucasian, and one was some type of mixed breed, but looked white for the most part. Only two of the seven were worthy of my time. Of course the nastiest dancer there, a 250-pound Oprah named Barbie, sits down next to me at the bar and starts grabbing my arm. I got rid of the leech, but was not able to get with the two dancers I found attractive before they were locked down with their regulars. Lap dances are $25 for one or $60 for three. The champagne room is $125 for a half hour. It looks like you get a fair amount of privacy for lap dances and for the champagne room since they are in a room beyond a black glass door. However, I do not know if there are cameras back there. The stage was empty most of the time I was there. Only two dancers went up there to dance. After they got off stage, they did a tip walk. I would only give this place another go if I was in Manitowoc; I would not travel any considerable distance to visit.
