They record everything on your drivers licence!

I have not been here for several months and made a rare evening visit. The bouncer wanted to scan my drivers license and I refused. He said the owner demands the scanning and looking at my date of birth is not good enough. I am in my 50's and they didn't even have to verify my age! Scanning the code on the back of your driver's license will give their computer your complete name, address, date of birth, height, weight, driver's license number, everything! I do not need this owner having my personal information! Why does he need it? Will he sell my info to Tony Soprano? Steal my identity? Use it for extortion? Store it for some hacker to reveal it to the papers? If a crime occurs hours after I leave, the cops will want the customer list and I will have to explain to my wife why a detective is at my door, and why was I at a strip club! I do not allow liquor stores to scan my card! I don't allow anyone to record my personal information. They don't need it! Why do they want it! I refused them to scan my card, and the bouncer refused my entrance. He said the manager was not available at the time and anyway the owner demands it. He said only about 1 guy a month refuses. I left and drove 5 min to McDoogals where they were happy to take the $130.00 I had in my pocket. GUYS, DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO SCAN YOUR DRIVER'S LICENSE! MAKE THEM CHANGE THIS POLICY!
