Detroit of the Southwest

This was the third night of a four-day cross-country road trip. Someone once said that El Paso was the Detroit of the southwest, so of course I had to see it for myself. I visited three of the recommended extras clubs in one night: Cabaret Club, Red Parrot, and Foxy.

Aside:

First, a little background on El Paso: The city lies on the Rio Grande. It's so close to the Mexican border that when I arrived, I received a text message from my cellular provider welcoming me to Mexico. So be careful to check your phone bill the following month if you're charged for international roaming. That said, the city is over 80% Mexican/Latino but, unlike Juarez just across the border, El Paso was voted one of the safest cities in the US. It could very well be because of the huge presence of military and federal border agencies.
