Not My Scene

For a club as well-regarded as Follies was, I enjoyed my time there but ultimately decided there were far better clubs, and I would not be going back again.

I arrived between shift changes, so I witnessed the aforementioned drastic transition from gentlemen's club to night club. Cover was $10, Valet parking $5. I wasn't fond of their beer selection, so I ordered a couple of their popular heavily-liquored drinks, Long Islands and Peach Teas. As soon as I walked in, I immediately smelled the aroma of controlled substances; the smoke was so thick it felt like someone turned on the fog machine. It's that kind of club, where things go on and people look the other way, anyway.

Dances were $10, and they worked hard for it. They even had a two-for-one dances at one point. The VIP rooms were not at all private. Rather than a curtain, there's beads that everyone can see through. Moreover, during my VIP session, I was walked in on at least three times by customers and a bouncer checking in on things. The only thing that saved the night was that the dancer offered to meet me OTC after her shift ended. To top it off, the dancer told me a 30-person brawl occurred the night prior with chairs flying, and dancers getting punched in the face.
