Well folks, if you are waiting for a reason to go to Ken's you have waited too long. I was there last night and guess what...the new laws have gone into effect and the stage was roped off to keep everyone at least three feet away from the dancers. Obviously this put a damper on the entertainment, but it also created another problem. In addition to taking out the chairs along the tip rail, they also had to slide the tables back which made the seating very crowded. The VIP rooms upstairs have been changed and one room now has multiple chairs and a small roped off stage for "private" dances. The dances have been reduced to $20 but it's still not worth it IMHO, and judging by the lack of traffic heading upstairs I wasn't the only one who wasn't going to waste my money. When I got there the parking lot wsa full and there was a good crowd, but that lasted for only a few minutes before everyone started leaving. I saw at least 4 girls pack up their stuff and quit while I was there (which was only about an hour or so). Only a couple of guys even looked like they were having a good time, one was an old drunk that was thowing money around like he had his own printing press and the other was the guy I've seen in there several times in the past who always seems to be hoggin all the hot girls. Last night he was only with one girl (although most of the others made a point to stop by his table and give him a hug or a kiss) which was a really good indicator of just how bad things were. I gotta give the guy credit though, when his girl was on stage he didn't just wad a few one's up and throw them at the girl like the other guys who bothered tipping were doing. Instead he just sat at his table drinking and made paper airplanes out of the bills and sailed them up onto the stage which got a laugh out of everyone there. Pretty cool way to tip the girl in such a way that she couldn't help but notice, and show his displeasure at the new laws at the same time.

I hope they can get the new law thrown out, but until they do I won't be wasting my time and money going to any of the Nashville clubs. If last night was any indication there won't be any girls left before long anyway. In addition to the girls that I saw quit, I heard two others saying that they would work out the rest of the night and then they wouldn't be back, and I even overheard the waitress saying that she was going to look for another job. I guess from now on I'll save my entertainment money and make an ocassional trip to Memphis instead of spending my money in Nashville.
