Platinum Plus Allentown
Was passing through town on business and decided to give Platinum Plus a shot. The club itself is in a somewhat odd location, being that it is in a strip-mall next to a grocery store. The surrounding businesses made me feel a little guilty walking in just after work. The $5 cover at the door was less than I am used to paying, so that was a nice surprise. Once inside, the place is very nice. It is one giant room with 2 different bars. Since this was early evening, it was clear that the day shift was coming to an end, but the night shift had not yet started. When I walked in, there were more dancers in the club than patrons - not a bad ratio.
While there were more dancers than patrons at the time, the dancers did not seem enthusiastic about being there. Most of them were huddled around 1 table with a few guys who seem to be regulars - just talking and drinking, while they took turns going up on stage 1 at a time. I tend to be very picky about the girls I will get dances from, so I didn't mind that the girls I was not attracted to were keeping their distance. I had been there for about 30 minutes and was about ready to leave before my eye immediately caught a girl that I was very into.
She came over and introduced herself. We ended up sitting and just talking over a few drinks - it was very pleasant. I didn't feel like it was too pushy or that she was in a hurry to get me to commit to something more than just casual conversation. In hindsight, I'm sure she just wanted to make sure I had a few drinks to loosen my wallet! We did eventually get to business and we decided to do 30 minutes in the VIP room. I was quoted a price of $350 for her time and that I would also need to buy half a bottle of champagne as well. When we got situated in the back, the waitress asked in advance if I would mind tipping them and the dancer 20% in advance. I obliged and signed about 10 different things (with thumbprints).
